Jayne Marek is an author, photographer, and teacher who  received the B.A. in English from St. Olaf College, the M.A. in English from Washington State University, the Ph.D. in English and American Literature from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and the M.F.A. in Creative Writing from the University of Notre Dame.  She has taught at colleges and universities in Illinois, Washington, Wisconsin, and Indiana and in Hungary, where she was a Fulbright Senior Scholar in English at the University of Debrecen.  Currently she teaches creative writing, literature, film studies, and other topics at Franklin College.

Along with Lylanne Musselman and Mary Sexson, Jayne is a member of the poetry group Company of Women, whose book Company of Women:  New and Selected Poems appeared in 2013 from Chatter House Press.  Jayne has also published the poetry chapbook Imposition of Form on the Natural World with Finishing Line Press (2013).  Her work has appeared in publications such as Lantern Journal, Siren, Spillway, Driftwood Bay, Tipton Poetry Journal, Isthmus, The Occasional Reader, Wisconsin Academy Review, and Windless Orchard and in anthologies:  And Know This Place: Poetry of Indiana and the 2012 Cincinnati Writers Project collection A Few Good Words
