lis Branch of the Vonnegut Library Book Club will meet on Thursday, September 26, at the Emelie Building in downtown Indianapolis (340 N. Senate Avenue) at 11:30 a.m. The library does not open until noon, but you can enter through Katz & Korin entrance. In honor of Banned Books Week, we will be studying George Orwell's Animal Farm.  Please join us.

Bonnie's book, Reconfigured, came out in 2009 from Finishing Line Press. She is the author of three previous chapbooks: Ms Lily Jane Babbitt Before the Ten O'clock Bus from Memphis Ran Over Her, Old 37: The Mason Cows, and Bloodletting: A Ritual Poem for Women's Voices. Her poems have appeared in the Indiana Review and Nimrod International Journal, on the Indy Go buses in Indianapolis, and on a CD of Central Indiana Women Musicians. She has poems forthcoming in War Literature & the Arts, and in an anthology: And Know This Place: Poetry of Indiana. Maurer has conducted creative writing/healing workshops for the homeless in recovery, for the HIV+/AIDs affected/infected population and for cancer patients at The Wellness Center.

Daly Walker Reading

Daly Walker will read from his newly released book Little Creek: Finding Elemental Life in Brown County at a reception at the Lilly Library, Indianapolis Art Center in Broad Ripple Tuesday, October 8 7-9 p.m. The public is invited to this opening party for the book.
He is a resident writer of Brown County and describes the renewing of his spirit and talent as he rebuilt a cabin on a hill with his companion Toni Wolcott, whose paintings illustrate the chapters of this large-size color book. Daly Walker’s essays have been published in Atlantic Monthly and his short story collection, Surgeon Stories, was published by Fleur De Lis Press in 2011. He is a member of both the Indiana Writers’ Center and the Writers’ Table of Indianapolis.
