Rachel Kartz directs the Humanities Department at the Art Institute of Indianapolis. She earned her MFA from Eastern Washington University, where she served as Fiction Editor for Willow Springs. Her work has appeared in The Portland Review, The Adirondack Review, and Fifth Wednesday, among other places. She has taught writing for many years to a variety of students, including middle schoolers, high schoolers, college students, and residents of a retirement community. She lives in Indianapolis with her husband and their two cats, one big and one small.
