Time: 1-5 p.m.
Location: IWC

In two 4-hour sessions, we will discuss why retirement is the best time of life to begin and complete a book or other major writing project.

The four major topics the class will consider are:

  1. Transitioning from a career to becoming a writer;
  2. Tell the Truth: Nonfiction/Memoir writing;
  3. Tell a Story: Fiction/Novel writing; and
  4. Getting published/self publication.

Guided exercises will let students apply each topic to their own writing.

 Alicia and Jeff Rasley are local writers who have taught many classes at IWC. Alicia writes mostly fiction, and Jeff writes mostly non-fiction. Between the two, they have produced dozens of books and over one hundred articles within the traditional publishing industry and as independent publishers. Now they'll be sharing their hard-earned wisdom to motivate others to use the post-work phase of life to write meaningful and intriguing stories, memoirs, and guides.
