Ayla Walter grew up in upstate New York until her family moved to Terre Haute, IN nearly 10 years ago. Now living in Indianapolis, she works at the Indianapolis Zoo. She attended college at Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) to study painting. Ayla has been making art and writing poetry for most of her life. Her short story “The Good Book” won 1st Place in the 2010-2011 Autumn Voices Creative Writing Publication and two of her poems “Albatross” and “Spring Cleaning” were published in the RISD Arts and Literary Magazine Visions. When she is not working on art or poetry Ayla likes to swim, read fiction, take pictures of the sky, and learn interesting new things online.
