Important Update: GATHERING OF WRITERS POSTPONED
Dear Writers, Members, and Friends:
It's with a heavy heart and an abundance of caution that the Indiana Writers Center has decided to postpone the upcoming Gathering of Writers on March 28th, 2020.
With an unprecedented pandemic spreading across the United States, the Indiana Writers Center wants to protect our members from unnecessary exposure. Many of our esteemed members also have chronic medical conditions or are in risk categories due to age.
At this time, we are coordinating with the venue, our speakers, and staff to find an appropriate new date. We have tentatively slated SEPTEMBER 26, 2020 as the new event date for The Gathering of Writers. It will still be held at the Indiana State Library. Our headliner, Michael Poore, has agreed to the new date. We are working to reschedule all the planned speakers and presenters.
If you have already purchased your Gathering of the Writers ticket, it will automatically apply to the new date. No action is needed.
If you can no longer attend the new date, the Indiana Writers Center offers four options:
1) apply your ticket fee for IWC class credit within 12 months (by 3/28/2021).
2) transfer your ticket to another member (with approval).
3) apply your ticket fee as a donation to the IWC. You'll be supplied with a tax- deductible note.
4) apply your ticket fee towards membership renewal.
If you can no longer attend, please reach out via SARAH@INDIANAWRITERS.ORG to make your alternative plans.
Thank you for your understanding. We are all facing uncertainty and unprecedented challenges during the COVID-19 crisis. We hope you will continue writing and learning. The Indiana Writers Center will continue to communicate changes and opportunities over the next several weeks.
