Alicia Pattison is an Indiana native, a true Hoosier, as she discovered when she ventured off to San Francisco for graduate school. She teaches Creative Writing at Ivy Tech Community College. Her writing, from her poetry to creative non-fiction focuses of family, rural America and what it means to constantly be searching for those things that don’t exist. A proud Butler Bulldog, she’s most known in the Indianapolis community for founding the group lovingly called the Indianapolis Poetry Orgy. These public readings provide opportunities for young and new writers to present their work to the community, to connect with like minded poets and writers, and continue the exploration of that quaint, yet distinctly unique Hoosier voice.
