Candace Denning has published two novels, one of which won the Virginia Prize for Fiction. She received a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship in Creative Writing and a Creative Renewal Grant from the Arts Council of Indianapolis, among other literary awards. She traveled to Russia in an artist exchange program sponsored by the Russian Literary Fund, which subsequently published one of her novels in Russian. As screenwriter, she helped produce a short film that premiered at the Heartland Film Festival in Indianapolis. She also traveled to China as documentarian for an American medical research project. Having taught writing at three Indiana universities, she now works as an independent book development editor and ghostwriter. Her most recent project has been a three-year venture, writing the centennial history of an African American international organization. Candace holds an MA in French literature and an MFA in Creative Writing.
