Class Registration Policies


You can register online, or print out the class registration form and mail it along with your class tuition payment to:

If a class welcomes walk-in registrations, you may bring your registration form with you to the class.


All tuition fees must be paid at the time of registration. Payment methods include MasterCard, VISA, PayPal, Personal Check, Money Order or cash. A $35 handling fee will be charged for all returned checks.



Please notify our office at least 48 hours prior to the beginning of the class if you are not able to attend a class for which you have registered. Many of our classes reach capacity. It is crucial to know in time to offer your space to another student.  If you comply with the notification process and we are able to fill your spot, we will offer an equivalent credit for a future class. Alternatively, we can apply your ticket fee as a donation to the IWC. You'll be supplied with a tax- deductible note. If you absolutely need a refund, we may issue one at the discretion of our Executive Director. If you paid for your class by credit card, it will be necessary to deduct credit card processing fees from your refund. We may not able to offer any credit or refund option if you notify us less than 48 hours before the class is scheduled. Special events may be subject to separate guidelines.

If you are registering for a multi-session workshop, please understand these special guidelines apply:
You must provide a minimum of 7 days notice of cancellation in order to be considered for class credit for the full amount that was paid. We need this additional time to secure a new student to take your place. When you withdraw from workshop, class credit can *only* be extended if we are able to fill your space. There are no credits or refunds issued after the start of the sessions.

*If class credit is given, it must be used within 365 days from the time it is issued.

Class Cancellation

Please consider a class credit, a donation, or membership renewal for registration fees of classes which are cancelled or postponed due to the COVID-19 policies and regulations. As a small non-profit these program cancellations are detrimental to the future of the organization. We appreciate your support and understanding. We have cancelled and postponed our classes and programs out of compassion and concern for our community, and sincerely hope to continue to serve Indiana writers in the future.

A minimum number of registrations are required for each class. If minimum enrollment is not reached before the start of the class, the class will be canceled and all tuition fees will be refunded.



Unless stated otherwise, all classes will be held at the Indiana Writers Center at
1125 Brookside Avenue, Suite B25, Indianapolis, IN 46202-2085  in the Circle City Industrial Complex. You will find ample parking across the street and a handicap accessible ramp to our door.



To accommodate students with disabilities, classes will be held in accessible facilities. Large print versions of materials will be provided upon request as will other types of reasonable accommodation. Students needing accommodations must notify the Center of their specific needs at least seven business days before the first class session. All class registration forms include a space for students to identify their needs.
