IWC is Moving to a New Home in January 2018

Dear Members and Friends-

A sudden, unexpected and hefty rent increase by the Indianapolis Art Center this fall set the IWC staff on a search for new space. Change is always difficult, but I really believe that this jolt is a blessing in disguise! On January 1, 2018 the Circle Center Industrial Complex will become the new home of the Indiana Writers Center, with newly refurbished offices, a bigger classroom, and access to gallery space for readings and other events. Plus, there's plenty of free parking!

Just around the corner from the shops, restaurants, and theaters on Massachusetts Ave., the CCIC is home to a large and diverse tenant base, including artists, nonprofit organizations, small businesses-and a craft brewery (perfect for those after-class conversations). There's a lively community vibe, which I know will spark innovative collaborations and exciting partnerships. More than 500 people visit CCIC on First Fridays, and we look forward to introducing them to the IWC.

We can't wait to show you our new space! Mark your calendar for Friday, February 2, 2018-and join us at the CCIC to celebrate this new era of the Indiana Writers Center. Meanwhile, watch for Winter/Spring 2018 classes, which we'll start posting on the website soon.

If you'd like to make a donation to help defray moving costs, we'd really appreciate it!
