Monica Bergers

Monica Bergers is a graduate of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, where she was a Teaching-Writing Fellow and awarded a Glenn Schaeffer Fellowship. She has taught creative writing at the University of Iowa, the University of Missouri-Columbia, and Victoria University in Wellington, New Zealand, and is currently serving as a teaching and community moderator for the UI International Writing Program’s latest MOOC “How Writers Write Fiction 2016: Storied Women.” She is an avid supporter of passionate and humorous authorial voices, and her work seeks to find both. Her fiction has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize and two Best New American Voices prizes, and has been published in New South, Five Chapters, The Chariton Review, and on the literary podcast, BoundOff.
