We know how important it is to workshop drafts, but sometimes it's our writing process itself that needs revision. Writing is hard. It's messy and recursive, and there are no easy shortcuts. But by reflecting on your own process and experimenting with techniques you don't often use, you can get yourself out of a rut and develop more sustainable and rewarding writing habits.
In this four-week series, we'll workshop our individual ways of writing and experiment with approaches like free-writing, outlining, mapping, really rough drafting, and radical revision. For each of us, the aim will be to rework our individual writing process so that it better helps us meet our writing goals.
Because this workshop focuses on the writing process, writers working in any genre—fiction, poetry, playwriting, memoir, nonfiction—are welcome. Please bring a draft along if you have a project underway.
