Getting Up the Gumption: How, Where, & Why to Submit Your Creative Nonfiction & Memoir

Instructor: Andrea Boucher
Date: Wednesday, May 30
Time: 6:30 – 9 p.m.
Location: IWC
Cost: $63 Nonmembers, $40 members, $35 student members/teacher members/senior members/military members/librarian members

I have three notes permanently attached to my computer:

  • Odds if you don't submit: zero. Odds if you do submit: better than zero.
  • You can't win a race if you aren't in it.
  • Submit! Submit! Submit!

It takes guts to overcome your fear of rejection and submit your work, but you must if you want to be published. Come to this class for a few reasons:

  • Learn all about Submittable and (free) databases that list calls for submissions and contests.
  • Discover the best journals for creative nonfiction/memoir writing
  • Pick up some tips and hints for tracking submissions and writing cover letters.

But most importantly, come for the camaraderie and support of your writing peers. We're all in this together!
