Everyone has a story to tell. In this 6-week class we will generate new material as well as learn about the fundamentals of memoir writing including: vivid descriptions, writing what we don’t know, research, structure, revision, and publication. Participants will be expected to complete some writing and reading assignments outside of class.
About the instructor:
Lara Lillibridge (she/they) is the author of The Truth About Unringing Phones: Essays on Yearning; Mama, Mama, Only Mama: An Irreverent Guide for the Newly Single Parent; and Girlish: Growing Up in a Lesbian Home. Lara is core faculty for Literary Cleveland and holds an MFA from West Virginia Wesleyan College. Her essay collection, Hysterical Harlot: An Alphabetical Exploration of Sex, Gender, and Shame is forthcoming March 30, 2027 with Unsolicited Press.
