Join the Indiana Writers Center for an evening with writer and CNN Hero Debra Des Vignes as she explores the power of storytelling inside prison walls. Drawing from her work founding the Indiana Prison Writers Workshop, Debra invites participants to imagine the lived experience of incarceration, engage in a guided writing exercise, and reflect on the lessons learned from facilitating writing programs in jails and prisons. The evening will include discussion, audience sharing, and conversation about how writing builds dignity, agency, and human connection in places often unseen.
