In today’s world of short attention spans and shorter quantities of free time, many of us feel drawn to writing and reading short pieces. In this class we will examine very short forms of creative nonfiction and try our hand at writing a few of our own. Please bring index cards or similarly sized slips of paper as well as a notebook or other writing materials.
About the instructor:
Lara Lillibridge (she/they) is the author of The Truth About Unringing Phones: Essays on Yearning; Mama, Mama, Only Mama: An Irreverent Guide for the Newly Single Parent; and Girlish: Growing Up in a Lesbian Home. Lara is core faculty for Literary Cleveland and holds an MFA from West Virginia Wesleyan College. Her essay collection, Hysterical Harlot: An Alphabetical Exploration of Sex, Gender, and Shame is forthcoming March 30, 2027, with Unsolicited Press.
