Flash fiction is all the rage right now, but did you know you can do this with creative nonfiction as well? This three-week course hones the craft of economy and teaches you how to produce an impactful piece of creative nonfiction in far fewer words than you’d expect. You will learn how to “get it down on paper” and then mold, sculpt, and fine-tune your material into a sharp, not-one-word-wasted piece of writing. This is one case where having a limit can actually be very freeing. Use this class to shake up your writing and get the creative juices flowing. We’ll look at several examples and do free-write exercises in class. For the last class, you will share and workshop your final piece.
